ITV ‘axes’ popular Saturday night show leaving viewers gutted

ITV has reportedly axed talent show Starstruck. The show, which was a modern-day version of Stars In Their Eyes, has aired for two series on the channel.
Hosted by Olly Murrs, the show featured a raft of talent on the judging panel, including Wolverhampton singer Beverley Knight, Queen frontman Adam Lambert, country star Shania Twain and comedian Jason Manford. It saw contestants impersonate a variety of famous faces, from Cher to Britney Spears – often to the hilarity of viewers.
Last year, the overall winner Abbie Edwards – who performed as Adele – was handed £50k. A source told the Daily Star: “There were plans to film a new series this autumn and air it in 2024, but they have now been scrapped.”

The source added that the channel is looking for another talent show to take its place. ITV said a third series had not been announced but did not confirm the show would definitely not return.
A spokesperson said: “Starstruck has been a successful new entertainment format for ITV1 and ITVX, consistently holding its slot in our schedules. We haven’t yet confirmed a third series but are in regular conversations with the show’s producers Remarkable.”
