Leeds United ace Drameh mooted to benefit from Elland Rd transfer news

Cody Drameh could benefit massively at Elland Road if Rasmus Kristensen was to leave Leeds United this summer, according to Leeds Live journalist William Jackson.

The journalist noted that Drameh has been a “frustrated figure” in recent times at Elland Road.

But he could step up into the first team amid the potential exit of Kristensen, who has agreed personal terms with Roma, as per Fabrizio Romano (25 June).

“The Whites still have Luke Ayling contracted for another year, of course, and he’s guaranteed to provide a big presence around Elland Road this season,” Jackson wrote for Leeds Live.

“But, they also have Cody Drameh on their books and Kristensen’s proposed departure might well end up being the opportunity he has been waiting for at Elland Road.

“Drameh has cut a frustrated figure over the last couple of campaigns in West Yorkshire.”

Time to shine?

If Kristensen does leave Elland Road, it would definitely open the door for Drameh to land a regular spot at right-back.

Veteran defender Ayling would provide a good back-up option in this regard, but going forward there is little doubt that Drameh would be the best option for whichever manager accepts the vacant job in West Yorkshire.

There is, however, the very real possibility that Drameh may not even be at Elland Road come the new campaign, with the youngster attracting interest from elsewhere after helping Luton get promoted to the Premier League during his loan spell there last season.

The newly-promoted club would be foolish not to try and bring the youngster back on a permanent basis after his top displays last time out.

And the 21-year-old would also be foolish not to try and seek out a side in the top flight, with opportunities like this not coming around very often.
