Alex Scott transfer stance, Wolves players in demand and Ruben Neves details
Bristol City chief executive Phil Alexander says there won’t be any knee jerk reaction if a bid comes in for their 19-year-old midfielder Alex Scott.
Wolves have been heavily linked with the England under-20 player who has just been named Championship player of the year after starting 40 games in City’s latest season.
Scott, who is rated at £25million, has also been linked with Bournemouth, West Ham and Spurs but the Championship club have yet to receive an offer. Talking about Scott, Alexander told BristolLive any bid would be weighed up by him, owner Steve Lansdown, technical director Brian Tinnion and manager Nigel Pearson.
He said: “I mention it because he is so high-profile and there is a degree of noise but we have not had any formal offer, as it stands. We’ll deal with it as it comes and there won’t be any knee-jerk reactions. Decisions will be made in a solid way that everyone buys into, from Steve down to me, down to Tinns (Brian Tinnion) and Nigel (Pearson) and his team, and is the best thing for this football club.”
Winger loan and keeper in demand
Steve Davis’ prediction that six or seven Wolves youngsters will be learning their trade in the Football League next season is starting to play out as clubs come in for academy players.
Winger Tyler Roberts’ move to Doncaster Rovers was confirmed at the weekend while there is also interest in keeper Louie Moulden. First to Roberts, the 19 year old winger who has spend the last 12 years progressing through the Wolves youth system. He’s joined League Two Doncaster on a season-long loan, much to the delight of Roberts boss Grant McCann who told his club: “Tyler is a really exciting young winger that I’ve no doubt will get the fans off their seats. He’s direct and can play off the right or left side.”

Neves set to make a fortune
Wolves captain Ruben Neves will land a contract estimated as at least £300,000 a week if his £47m move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal goes through.
Neves has been heavily linked with Barcelona but Wolves haven’t received an offer from them and instead there has been speculation the Catalans would favour a swap deal. But that wouldn’t suit Wolves who need to raise money to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations and fund their own spending plans as they prepare for a sixth successive season in the Premier League.
The offer from Al-Hilal matches Wolves valuation of around £45m for a player with just a year left on his contract. The midfielder’s former club Porto will reportedly receive around £1.6m as part of the deal.
Neves’ estimated £300,000 a week in Saudi Arabia isn’t reduced by tax, meaning an English club would have to pay him twice as much to match his take home pay.

The Wolves players linked with moves
Wolves captain Ruben Neves is expected to move on this week in a £47m deal to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal. But which other players could follow him out of the door at Molineux?
The Neves sale won’t go the whole way to helping the club comply with Financial Fair Play restrictions so more sales are likely to help manager Julen Lopetegui rebuild the squad in preparation for the new Premier League season. Here are the Wolves players who have been linked with moves away this summer.
