Amanda Holden shares cryptic post as Phillip Schofield quits This Morning

Amanda Holden seems to have taken a swipe at Phillip Schofield, after he announced he was quitting This Morning.

Phil said it had been a “difficult week” as speculation around his and Holly Willoughby’s fall-out reached fever pitch.

The 61-year-old is no stranger to a feud as he previously fell out with Amanda Holden – reports Mirror Online. Reports at the time suggested that he never wanted to present the ITV morning show alongside her.

Amanda, 52, has never shied away from sharing what happened between herself and Phillip and previously told Heart Radio listeners she once extended an olive branch to him – which he ignored.

Now, following the news he’s quit, she has taken to Instagram to share a rather cryptic post.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge shared a bicep curl emoji, which is often used to show support and strength to people.

Her post which has raked up thousands of likes was soon flooded with comments, with former Coronation Street star Charlie Condou penning: “Exactly.”

A second said: “I know what that’s for.”

A third commented: “No Holden back for sure, YES AMANDA!”

And a fourth said: “Hahahaha love it, get in there Amanda x”

Amanda replaced Holly on This Morning when she was presenting I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! but Phillip had reportedly decided Rochelle Humes was the perfect fit. But Amanda had already secured the gig, leaving Phillip furious.

Speaking in 2019, Amanda addressed the situation, explaining to her radio co-host Jamie Theakston: “I’ve moved on from it, Jamie, you need to move on from it.

“I did offer to meet him for a coffee months ago, he didn’t reply to my text. What can I say?”

After weeks of speculation surrounding his future on This Morning, Phillip announced his departure – just two days after his last appearance on the show.

In a statement, the former host said: “I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.

“Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind. I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.

“So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month.”
