Arctic Monkeys: Bumper gallery of ecstatic gig-goers as fans fill Riverside pitch for bouncing gig
Bouncing fans both young and old packed out the Riverside Stadium pitch as they rocked out to Arctic Monkeys’ spectacular set.
The roaring sound of the Sheffield band’s guitars filled the airwaves of Teesside on Monday evening as they treated fans to a non-stop concert packed full of crowd-pleasers and old-school favourites. From Mardy Bum to R U Mine? the band had the Riverside jumping with huge mosh-pits visible on the pitch from every angle.
Drinks were flowing throughout, with the pitch being a hive of activity right from the get-go. Whether you were a fan at the back or one of the luck ones on the front row and in touching distance from Alex Turner and co, thousands made sure to bring the atmosphere to every corner of the stadium.

Before the gig, thousands took to the fan villages to soak up the sun, with snaking queues forming at the merch stalls, food trucks, and of course, the bar.
While there, Teesside Live spoke with a number of ticket-holders that couldn’t praise the vibe enough.
Laura Weldon, 38, said: “I am so excited to be at the Arctic Monkeys. I can’t wait to see them – I’ve loved them literally since I was 12-years-old and would love love love love to see A Certain Romance but I don’t think they are going to perform it. But I am excited for Mardy Bum.”
The Hartlepool woman, who lives in Acklam, added: “It is nice for the town – we were in Turtle Bay earlier and it was absolutely buzzing. The atmosphere was mint – and it is so good around here [at the fan village].”
Michelle Dawson, from Stockton, said: “We are very excited to see the Arctic Monkeys. It is a really nice vibe here, and I’m here with Morgan my eldest. I want them to play some old stuff but some of their new stuff as well!”
