The Norman tower, which was built between 1120 and 1148, is one of the oldest Norman buildings in England and has never been altered, making it one of the most complete Norman buildings in the UK.

Baret House has a south facing walled back garden which is one of the property’s most attractive features with well-placed terraces to take advantage of the sun in the afternoon and evenings.

Inside, a spacious entrance hall with exposed beams leads to a cloakroom with a heated towel rail before coming to the drawing room that has an 11ft plus high ceiling and 6ft high sash windows, showing views of the Norman Tower in one direction and the garden in the other.

The dining room has a high ceiling as well as a fireplace and also provides views of the tower.

Opening to the courtyard and garden from a set of double doors, the kitchen features a handmade solid wood Lavenham joinery, including glass fronted display cabinets, shelving, deep pan drawers, solid wood work tops and marble worktops that continue on to a matching island unit.
