BBC This Country All Stars to take on Cirencester Town FC veterans in Cotswolds charity match
The cast and crew of BBC’s This Country are going to face off against the veteran players of Cirencester Town FC once again this year in a star-studded charity football match. Tickets for the all-star event went live on Wednesday (June 7) and it is now less than a month until the match, which is Sunday July 2.
In past years the event has drawn large crowds, including many other celebrities who come along to cheer on the ‘This Country’ crew, from Laurence Llewellyn Bowen to Emmerdale actors and others. While fans of the BBC mockumentary comedy might not expect ‘Kurtan’ to bother with such an event, actor Charlie Cooper is only too keen to don his football studs and raise some money for charity.
Fellow This Country star and sister Daisy May Cooper frequently commentates these raucous charity matches and is set to be taking part in next month’s match from the sidelines. The “This Country All Stars V Cirencester Town FC Veterans” event will be hosted at the football team’s Corinium Stadium ground on Kingshill Lane, on the first Sunday in July, starting at 2pm and running until 10pm.

The ‘This Country’ team raise money all over Gloucestershire, where they based their hit comedy about rural life. Just last month, Daisy May Cooper said she would “wh*re herself out” to raise money if it was for charity, at a Cheltenham car boot sale.
Tickets for the charity football match are £10 for adults, while children go free. The event information reads: “Come along to the Celebrity event of the year as This Country All Stars face Cirencester Town FC Veterans at The Corinium Stadium.
“Charlie (Kurtan Mucklowe), Paul (Martin Mucklowe), Daisy (Kerry Mucklowe) and the cast of ‘This Country’ will be in attendance along with special guests such as Matt Bayton (‘Ghosts’, ‘Gaving & Stacey’, ‘Horrible Histories’), Felix White (The Macabees), Ellis Platen (Youtuber), Jess Impiazzi (Celebrity Big Brother & model) with more surprise celebrities to be confirmed and added.”
This Country, which won a BAFTA, was filmed around Northleach and was based on the Coopers’ experiences of growing up around Cirencester. You can purchase tickets for the charity match here.
