Bucket hats and bright outfits dominate Parklife’s festival fashion
Parklife is in full swing at Heaton Park and festival goers are certainly dressed for the glorious weather. With temperatures to soar up to 30C, sun cream is being lathered on every corner you turn.
Shades are not just a fashion choice on the opening day (Saturday June 10) of Parklife but an absolute essential.
Festival season is an exciting time of year for fashion lovers, as they style themselves in outfits you wouldn’t typically see the rest of the year.

From space cowgirls to sparkles and neon, Parklifers are embracing classic festival fashion trends.
Bethany Corner and Lauren O’Donovan
Bethany Corner, 25, made the journey from Middlesbrough to be here at Parklife wearing a half-neon, half-zebra print co-ord.
“We got a train down to Parklife and it took around two and a half hours to get here – but it’s definitely worth the journey down.
“My outfit is actually handmade, and I got it online at Etsy. It did have sleeves originally but I took them off because my fit had to be bright and colourful for Parklife!
“I have my suncream on, keeping hydrated and I’m ready for the weekend!”
Lauren O’Donovan, 21, from Hartlepool also made the trek down to Parklife for the two day festival. Unlike her pal, Lauren was head to toe in fast fashion giant Shein.
“We have our weekend tickets and we’re so excited to be here. I’m wearing Shein everything, Shein, Shein, Shein! I love it, and I’ve matched everything to go together even my sunglasses have silver stars on it like my top.

What’s a festival without a bucket hat? These trendy hats are proving to be a lifesaver today, keeping heads cool and stopping the sun from beaming down on faces.
23-year-old Liam Brockbanks from Bristol by far had the best bucket hat of the day – he transformed an ordinary, run of the mill, neon bucket hat into a cheeky frog.
“I ordered this hat online from this random guy who stuck some googly eyes on top of it for me – I think it’s pretty good to be fair!
“My shirt’s from Next, I got it on a sale rack, probably because no one wanted to buy it! I said I’ll take it, it’s quite cheap.”

Not only is TikTok one of the biggest social media platforms Gen Z love to spend hours scrolling through watching videos, but it seems like it’s also the place to shop these days.
One girl group were dolled up in different bright colours from chrome blue to neon pink – all of whom got their outfits on TikTok shop.
Becky Redmane, 19, from Boardsley, said: “I got my outfit on TikTok, you can get anything from there. It’s so hot here today it’s a joke, so I have my fan here to keep me cool.”
Becky’s mate Lauren, 19, from Preston, got her fit from ‘Going Out Out Clothing’ which you can also find on TikTok shop.
“It was my first time buying from TikTok but I definitely would buy my clothes from there again!”
Andrew Wright
Dressed in a lilac co-ord with a bucket hat to match, 23-year-old Andrew Wright from London was kitted out for Parklife.
“Lilac is actually my favourite colour so I thought I had to go dressed in all lilac. I got my outfit from ASOS but my hat is from America from a place called Psycho Bunny, but it goes well with the fit so I threw it on.
“The weather is so good, I mean it’s getting way too hot, but it is nice and I have my sunglasses on. I’m really looking forward to seeing Little Simz later, it’s a great day to be here.”
