Chasing Durham film documentary to be released on June 19
Dallas, Texas — The Chasing Durham film documentary will be released on June 19, 2023 at the Look Dine in Cinema, in Dallas, TX. Chasing Durham is based on the life and legacy of lawyer William J. Durham and his advocacy for constitutional rights for all United State citizens.
On Monday, Juneteenth (June 19, 2023) Chasing Durham will roll out the Red-Carpet with a Black-Tie affair honoring William Joseph Durhams Soul Sojourn. Visit: www.chasingdurham.com
William Joseph Durham is an international hero born to Mary and Henry Durham on April 6, 1896 in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, Texas. He was a member of the US Elite Army of Engineers, colored Division.
William Joseph Durham was a self-read constitutional lawyer, NAACP Resident Council of the State of Texas who exemplified bravery in the wake of the Sherman burning.
He also established a standard for constitutional activism in the state of Texas and throughout the United States, a lead lawyer for the monumental case of Heman M. Sweatt vs. Painter at the University of Texas at Austin.
William Joseph Durham laid a foundation for colored U.S. citizens and colored persons around the world, that redefined the constitutional rights so given unto all United States Citizens that sought to achieve the “American Dream” in the midst of racial segregation, poverty, disenfranchisement, murder and cultural/identity misappropriation.
Teshuvah Studios Productions will be featuring paintings, sketches, photography and graphic art that embody the spirit and era for which Lawyer William Joseph Durham lived. Works included in the exhibition are original pieces by Sandra Nelson: (Nelsonurbangallery.com), Rabbi Adams: (rabbiAdamsart.com), Judy Pinkney: (Yahudiartabstract.com) artistic drawings in the lobby of the theatre, our featured artists are: Sandra Nelson, Rabbi Adams, Judy Pinkney and an art Installation designed by Sandra Nelson inspired by artist Know as Action. The Art exhibition will be held prior to the Chasing Durham Film Documentary Premier (1:00 PM – 2:30 PM) so arrive in the Red Carpet early to enjoy the exhibition and network with the artist and exclusive guest.
William Joseph Durham Exhibition Soul Sojourn Creative Director/ Exhibition Curator, Judy Pinkney will guest through the life and meaning of each art piece. Silent bidding, based on current art appraisal, will be made available for interested guests.
