Couple announce opening date for new hair salon in Malmesbury

Pauls hair salon, situated in the Triangle in Malmesbury, will open its doors for the very first time on Friday, June 16.

This new unisex hairdressing salon is owned by Paul Edwards and his wife Sheila.

Paul, originally from Harrow, has been a hairdresser for 36 years and Sheila helps with the all the admin, HR and marketing.

The couple moved to Swindon 20 years ago to be closer to family members and have run Paul Edwards The Salon Redhouse in Blunsdon St Andrew, Swindon, for the last 16 years.

However, the family have recently relocated to Malmesbury and love the community there.

Sheila has started working at popular women’s clothing shop Sassy & Boo in the High Street and their daughter has joined Malmesbury Secondary School.

They are currently prepping the salon for opening day and hope to achieve a traditional, stylish and vintage look.

The couple want the salon to feel homely and plan to add lots of colour and textures to the final furnishings.

There will be five styling units at the new salon and they are currently looking for two more stylists to join their team.

Paul and Sheila have invited the community to come along to a welcome day prior to the official opening on Thursday, June 15.

Tea and cake available at the salon from 10am-2pm and they will be celebrating the new venture with some drinks at 5pm-7pm.

There will also be a free raffle offering the chance to win some exciting hair products.

Paul said: “I’m really excited to be opening a salon in Malmesbury.

“I moved here with my family a few months ago and we absolutely love it!

“My daughter goes to the local school, my wife works in a shop in the high street and we already feel the warmth and friendliness of this lovely town.

“I hope to emulate that warmth and friendliness in my salon.

“I want my staff and clients to feel at home, a place to not only receive a great hair service but a place to sit back, relax, have a good old chat, a cup of tea and hopefully leave us feeling happy!”

The salon will initially be open on Thursdays and Fridays between 9am- 6pm and on Saturdays between 8.30am – 4pm. 

They hope to be open six days a week as soon as they hire more stylists.
