Devon death and funeral notices: Heartfelt tribute to much-loved dad who died aged 43
This week’s death and funeral notices include more than 90 heartfelt tributes to people from Devon who have died recently. Much-loved dad Alan Floyd from Morebath is among them. His family say he will be “dearly missed by all of his family and friends” after he died at the age of 43 earlier this month.
As part of a longstanding tradition in local media, we announce the deaths of cherished members of our community every week. In last week’s death and funeral notices, more than 80 tributes were left by loved ones, including for Ann Retallick, a former cook at Abbey School in Torquay whose family say she will be “sadly missed and lovingly remembered”.

Mrs Ena Hocking passed away peacefully aged 99 at Abbeywood Care Home on Wednesday 14th June. She will be reunited with her beloved husband Ben who died in 1980. Ena was chair of the Torbay Civic Society and the local Cornish Association as well as a volunteer at St. Matthias Church in Babbacombe. Ena will be laid to rest on Thursday 6th July with a service at St.Matthias at midday, followed by a wake at The Livermead Cliff hotel from 1.00pm. We would love to see anyone who knew her.
