Double Toonie Fan Appreciation Night returns Saturday to Peterborough Speedway

Double Toonie Fan Appreciation Night returns Saturday to Peterborough Speedway

These days you’d be hard-pressed to find a night of family entertainment for just $4, but that’s exactly what Peterborough Speedway has to offer on Saturday night when Pepsi presents the year’s first Double Toonie Fan Appreciation Night.

Pit gates will open at 1:30 p.m., with the grandstands unlocked at 4 p.m. The green flag is set to fly at 5 p.m., with an evening of home track racing featuring the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, SwitchTire Mini Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck, Jiffy Lube Super Stock and Kingsway Auto Centre Junior Late Model divisions.

At intermission, cars will be brought to the front stretch for a meet and greet autograph session with the drivers, just before the night’s main events roll from the staging area.

“These shows are always a hit with the fans and racers,” said Peterborough Speedway track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “Drivers in every division have supporters in the grandstand and the Fan Appreciation Nights are a great opportunity to meet their favourite and show how much what they do is valued.”

While its still early in the 2023 schedule at the Mount Pleasant Road track, fans have already seen some exciting action from the track’s familiar faces and newcomers alike. Car counts have been strong across the board and it promises to be a solid season for the Cavan Monaghan track, located just west of Peterborough.

Looking ahead at some of the upcoming events, June 17 sees the return of the APC Pro Late Model and Qwick Wick Firestarter Super Stock tours, presented by KOD Disposal, along with the home track Bone Stock and Renegade Truck divisions.

On June 24, Peterborough Speedway presents its annual Autism Awareness Night, in support of the Canadian National Autism Foundation. On track action will feature the Mini Stock, Late Model and Junior Late Model divisions, along with the Canadian Legend Car Series and Can Am TQ Midgets.

Admission passes can be picked-up in advance by using the buy tickets tab on the track home page at www.eventsprout.com/events/peterborough-speedway-2000-ltd or as a cash only transaction on race day at the walk-up trackside ticket booth.
