Sheffield United favourites for Conor Coady

Sheffield United have emerged as the front-runners to sign former Everton loanee Conor Coady.

Surprisingly, the Toffees board opted against signing the Wolverhampton Wanderers defender on a permenant deal.

A £4.5million buyout clause was inserted into Coady’s contract and the 30-year-old was drafted in by Sean Dyche for the final-day win over Bournemouth.

But, for whatever reason, Farhad Moshiri and Co will not keep him at Goodison Park.

Newly-promoted Blades are now in pole position to sign the England international.

Everton want Sunderland talisman

Everton want Sunderland talisman Jack Clarke, according to Football League World.

The winger was intrumental in Sunderland launching a surprise promotion push under Tony Mowbray.

Failure to secure a Premier League return has top-flight clubs on high alert for Clarke – who has four years left on his contract.

Clarke scored nine goals and created 11 more for his teammates in 2022-23.

“He loves the atmosphere, the city, his teammates. So he has a special connection with the club. And also at the moment, while we’re speaking there is nothing advanced.”
