Exeter’s Great West Run: All the roads that will be closed for the half marathon
Exeter’s Great West Run is set to return to the city this weekend. Thousands of runners will be descending on the city as they prepare to take part in the annual half marathon.
The Elysium Healthcare Great West Run has become a popular challenge for runners many of whom are fundraising for local and national charities. Major roads across Exeter will shut on Sunday (May 21) as runners aim to complete the 13.1 mile route.
Around 4,000 people are expected to take part and road closures will be in place on the day from 7am. Diversions will be in place to keep traffic flowing around the city.

Roads will begin to reopen from 9.45am, with all set to fully reopen by 1pm. Organisers have arranged for diversions where possible in a bid to keep traffic flowing around the city.
Road closures will be in place from 6am in most areas and will re-open once runners have passed by and it is safe to do so.
