Extraordinary Devon home set to appear on Channel 4 series for sale

An incredible converted gospel hall set to appear in the second series of Channel 4’s Great British Home Restoration has been put up for sale. Originally a Gospel and Salvation Army hall, the extraordinary Salvation House was designed by Sir Oswald Archer in 1930 and has a wealth of history.

Sympathetically converted in 2023, this unique mid Devon property has been transformed into a luxurious three-bedroom, three-bathroom home.

With a remarkable eye for detail, the property’s current vendors have created an exceptionally unique home that offers contemporary living, while retaining an abundance of beautiful original features throughout.

The process of restoring and renovating the building was filmed for the second series of Great British Home Restoration with Charlie Luxton, which will be aired towards the end of the year.

Alice Deuchar Design who undertook the conversion said: “As soon as I walked into this stunning Art Deco building I had a strong vision of how I wanted the space to eventually look. Honouring the 1930s bones of the building and incorporating as many of the original features as possible, I designed a space that celebrates the original architectural features but also now works beautifully as a modern home.
