Menswear brand Farah has opened a new store on London’s Berwick Street.
Spanning 1,100 square feet at basement and ground floor level, the shop is part of the newly refurbished retail units at the south end of the street. It will offer Farah’s spring/summer collections, which have a vintage-inspired, LA surf scene, and will also stock high summer items that celebrate the sights and sounds of 1970s Jamaican reggae culture.
Originally founded in Texas in 1920 as a workwear company, Farah was re-born in the UK during the 1970s and is now known for its slim hopsack canvas trousers. The brand’s basics collection and many of its other fashion lines are now made with 100% certified organic cotton.
Mark Mccann, Farah’s brand director, said: “We are happy to be open in such an iconic location. Berwick Street is not only an internationally recognisable destination but a great brand fit – we’re really excited to be here.”
Andrew Price, executive director at Shaftesbury Capital, added: “Farah is a strong addition to the thriving menswear retail offer that we are continuing to build along Berwick Street.”
