How to get to Creamfields South 2023 by train, coach and car

Creamfields South 2023 is nearly here, with festival fans across the UK flocking to Essex for the electronic and dance music event. Thousands are expected to attend the event this weekend, travelling to the festival by train, coach and car.

Creamfields South  will take over Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex, over the upcoming bank holiday weekend (May 26-28). Earlier this year, Calvin Harris, Fatboy Slim, Andy C and Carl Cox were announced as part of the festival line-up.

There are a number of ways to the festival grounds this year, including public transport or hitting the road yourself. Whether you’re joining others via train and coach or by heading down in your own car, London World breaks down everything you need to know.

Here’s what you need to know about travelling to Creamfields South 2023 this weekend.

The nearest train station to the event is Chelmsford Train Station, but music fans will need to travel a further three miles to get to the festival grounds in Hylands Park. Luckily there is a shuttle bus service also available from Chelmsford Train Station.

The service is £10 for a return, and those who haven’t already pre-booked can also pay on the day. It will run across the event, transporting attendees to and from the festival back to the train station. The running times are below:

Bus journeys via Big Green Coach will also take Creamfield South attendees to the event. Those choosing to travel with the service can travel from cities across the country to the festival.

The weekend return coach will depart on Friday, May 26 and return on Monday, May 29. Big Green Coach services will depart from the following areas: Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Coventry, London, Portsmouth, Reading, Southampton, Swindon.

There will also be day return coach travel on both the Saturday and Sunday. These will depart from Canterbury, Colchester, Dartford (Bluewater), Gillingham, Hemel Hempstead, Ipswich, London, Luton, Milton Keynes and Northampton.

The festival website advises those driving not to take the advice of sat nav systems due to road closures in place for the event. Instead, it asks drivers to follow relevant signage.

Those travelling in from the East, West and South will need to head to the A12 before exiting to the A414. Alternatively, others driving down from the North can take the M11 and follow the signs from Junction 7 to Chelmsford on the A414.

If parking was not pre-booked, drivers can pay to park on arrival. Gold Ticket holders will have free accommodation parking and will not have to pay an additional charge for parking. The parking costs are listed below:
