A WOMAN has claimed that she was left housebound for years after spending £1,700 on disastrous “Turkey teeth”.

Jade Simmons, 37, said her new veneers left her looking like she’d been “chewing rocks” after the expensive procedure.

Jade, from Stockport, Greater Manchester, was scared to eat and too embarrassed to leave the house as the faulty teeth kept cracking.

She was excited to have the work done at a prestigious London clinic after seeing it advertised on Facebook, but her teeth began to crumble after just days.

Jade told the Manchester Evening News: “I was scared to eat food. Every time I heard a crack I instantly knew what it was and would burst into tears.

“I even started to avoid my own family because I was scared they would judge me for how bad they’d got.

“I didn’t want to leave the house; I wore a mask at work to keep my mouth covered at all times and I even avoided seeing my own mum out of anxiety and embarrassment.”

Jade, who already suffers from bipolar disorder, said that the nightmare took a severe toll on her mental health too.

After just a few months, her teeth had broken so badly she was forced to seek help from her local dentist.

They reportedly informed her that she had three fractured teeth and a severely damaged nerve, leading to emergency root canal surgery.

However, they wouldn’t do any more work to fix the veneers as the damage was too great.

As the single mum-of-three couldn’t afford to go private, she was forced to wait three years for the faulty fixtures to break down on their own.

Eventually, she made a TikTok video detailing her plight, which went viral with over 500,000 views.

Shortly after, Your Smile Turkey, a dental clinic based in Antalya, Turkey, contacted her and offered to fix the issues.

Despite being reluctant to trust the clinic due to previous “Turkey teeth” horror stories, she eventually agreed.

The work cost her £4,100, but would have set her back a whopping £22,000 in the UK.

Now, Jade says she finally feels confident enough to go out and about, though she still has to remind herself not to hide her teeth anymore.

The delighted mum said: “It’s honestly changed my life.

“People used to think my teeth were bad from taking drugs and my own daughter said I looked like I’d been chewing rocks.

“I’d completely given up on life but I’m finally starting to feel like myself again.”

However, not everyone has been so lucky with Turkey teeth.

One woman has been compared to a horse after jetting out to the country to get her teeth done after hating them for years.

Meanwhile, trolls accused one social media user of using a filter in photos due to his dazzling white veneers.
