It’s official – Nottingham beer is the best in the Midlands

Beer from all over the world is served in Nottingham pubs but it’s a locally brewed ale that is setting taste buds alight. Rebel IPA, from Navigation Brewery, has been crowned the best in the Midlands.

It’s an impressive feat for the three-man operation that trounced some of the big boys of the brewing world. With the taste of of tropical fruits and citrus and a well-balanced hoppy bitterness, the beer is described as a punchy session which delivers aroma and flavour without holding back.

Not only did the brewery take gold, it also scooped silver for its American IPA in the annual Regional Independent Beer Awards, organised by SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers Association). Some of the more speciality beers also took silver and bronze awards including Key Lime Pale, Pog Slammer and Arizona Wave.
