Live A21 traffic updates after crash near Sevenoaks sees air ambulance land

Traffic is at a standstill on the A21 Sevenoaks By-Pass after a crash. The air ambulance has landed at the scene following the collision at just before 2.30pm.

The road was blocked in both directions at just before 4.30pm, with all traffic stopped. The closure has also led to delays in the area, according to traffic information service Inrix.

At this stage it is unclear how many vehicles were involved or how many people were injured. Emergency services are at the scene.

Inrix said in an update at 4.20pm: “Road blocked and slow traffic due to crash on A21 Sevenoaks By-Pass both ways from A225 (Hildenborough/Sevenoaks Turn Off) to M25 (Westerham / Sevenoaks Turn Off). Traffic has now been stopped in both directions. There is an air ambulance on scene.”

Traffic congestion due to accident from A225 (Hildenborough / Sevenoaks Turn Off) to M25 (Westerham / Sevenoaks Turn Off). Congestion to Hildenborough.

Further delays on the A225 Tonbridge Road and the A22 London Road northbound as traffic diverts.

Southbound carriageway has reopened

The A21 remains closed heading north but traffic information service Inrix says the southbound carriageway has reopened
