Another fire in Maidstone
Firefighters were also called to a separate blaze in Linton, Maidstone, last night (May 19). The fire service was called to reports of a large amount of wooden crates alight off Linton Hill.
In a statement, a Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Five fire engines were sent to the scene, as well as a bulk water carrier and the technical rescue unit.
“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze using hose reel jets and compressed air foam. Crews also used a Telehandler machine to create a fire break and stop the flames from spreading.”
The spokesperson added that no injuries had been reported, and that the cause of the fire was not yet known but believed to be suspicious.
