Jurgen Klopp will speak with the media as Liverpool prepare to welcome Aston Villa to Anfield on Saturday afternoon (3pm). With one eye on the upcoming transfer window, meanwhile, the Reds have been linked to Feyenoord playmaker Orkun Kokcu while, reportedly, withdrawing from the race to sign Manuel Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon amid simultaneous interest from Villa – incidentally – and Chelsea.

Elsewhere, the Liverpool manager has been fined £75,000 and suspended from the touchline for two games – one suspended – following comments made after the 4-3 win against Tottenham last month. That suspension is effective immediately, meaning he will have to sit in the stands against Villa on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool consider swoop for Orkun Kokcu – reports

Liverpool are considering Orkun Kokcu as an alternative ‘target’ to Alexis Mac Allister.

That’s according to Football Transfers as Jurgen Klopp presses ahead with summer plans.

Countless midfielders have been linked with a move to Anfield this summer.

However, according to the article in question, Kokcu has now emerged on radar for Klopp and the recruitment team. Liverpool are also stated to have a side interest in Tijani Reijnders from AZ Alkmaar before the market reopens.
