Met Office verdict on Kent heatwave and when and where it’ll be hottest this week

The Garden of England is in for a week of glorious sunshine and high temperatures, the most recent forecasts have shown. Following a weekend of beautiful weather, new predictions from the Met Office show the UK basking in a week of warm and bright conditions – and Kent is no exception.

With peaks of around 26C and 27C in some parts of the nation, particularly toward the west, the UK is in for a mini heatwave this week, with these conditions set to persist for back-to-back days. Here in Kent, temperatures will start to dip into the 20s from Thursday (June 8), particularly toward the north of the county in areas such as Dartford.

Moving forward, these temperatures are looking to only rise further, hitting peaks of 22C in some spots on Friday, with the warmest weather to be felt in the likes of Tunbridge Wells, Tenterden and Medway.

Looking toward the weekend now, it is set to be an absolute scorcher, with highs of 24C forecast, once again particularly around the north of Kent. However, temperatures of 21C and above are expected across the country for both days, including in Ashford, Canterbury, Dover, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells and Medway.

On both Saturday and Sunday, the mercury will reach its highest peaks in the late afternoon at around 4pm on each day. While glorious temperatures are on the way for Kent, there is also the chance that this could be joined by some rain.
