Ideagen:
Nottingham-headquartered business tech provider Ideagen has brought in Michael Dowthwaite (pictured above) as its chief customer officer.
He brings over 23 years’ experience in customer success, sales, and marketing and will be responsible for driving the growth and success by focusing on delivering world-class customer experiences.
He said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Ideagen, a company that has a remarkable reputation in providing class-leading software solutions to its customers.”
In this new role, he will be responsible for driving customer satisfaction and loyalty globally, working closely with the company’s marketing, sales, and customer success teams to develop strategies that enable the company to provide the best possible customer experience.
Russell Scanlan:
Rob Wood has returned to Russell Scanlan as senior accounts handler after five and a half years working another insurance business. He re-joins the firm, based at Wellington Circus in Nottingham city centre, with more than 33 years of experience working for a clients from small start-ups to national corporations.
He said: “It’s great to be back at Russell Scanlan, working with such a good-natured and knowledgeable team. My five and a half years away from the firm has allowed me to increase my versatility — particularly on bigger accounts — and develop my skillset when delivering quality for clients.
“As senior accounts handler, my primary role is to liaise daily with our clients, negotiating renewal terms and dealing with challenging enquiries. I’m really looking forward to applying the knowledge I have nurtured throughout my career to strengthen the team and drive the business forward.”
Danaher & Walsh:
Danaher & Walsh (Civil Engineering) Ltd has welcomed Sean McCallion to our team as operations director.
He has worked in the industry for more than 30 years, having worked on big projects such as the Olympics and Crossrail. He has also been instrumental in joint ventures and sat on strategic boards.
In his spare time, Sean loves sport – he is a Blackburn Rovers supporter and a Leicester Tigers fan. He also plays tennis twice a week and enjoys fly fishing in Scotland whenever he gets the chance.
Persimmon Nottingham:
Gareth Hankin has been appointed managing director Persimmon Homes Nottingham, based at its Mansfield headquarters.
He said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be taking on this role. We have a great team here in Nottingham and I look forward to working to growing the business in an area of great opportunity.”

Futures:
Careers advice, training and employability specialist Futures has appointed Jennie Willock as its chief executive.
Ms Willock had held the position at the Nottingham social enterprise in an interim capacity, having joined the organisation six years ago.
She will steer the company’s plans to support the councils it works for and respond to the skills and employment needs of local people.
She said: “I am honoured to take up the role of CEO at Futures and have the opportunity to lead such a talented team.
“I am confident that together, we will play a transformative role and deliver a genuine socio-economic impact, addressing deprivation and social exclusion, and creating opportunity for all throughout the communities we serve.
“I joined Futures in 2017 having been drawn to its values, and I remain as passionate as I was then, today.”
Miller Homes:
Ben Massey has been promoted to divisional managing director for Miller Homes, leading the company’s regional offices in the East Midlands, South Midlands and Yorkshire.
Ben joined Miller Homes in 2001 after completing his degree in residential development at Nottingham Trent University. Over 22 years, he progressed to become land director for the Midlands regions in 2013, before achieving promotion to the post of regional managing director for Miller’s East Midlands office and its South Midlands office, which opened in Northampton in 2022.
He said: “I’m very pleased to be taking on this new role at Miller Homes, working with our excellent teams across three unique and distinctive regions.
“I look forward to developing our presence in the South Midlands, where we will be celebrating our first completions this summer, while continuing to deliver top quality homes at new and existing sites in the East Midlands and Yorkshire.”
BSP Consulting:
East Midlands-based civil and structural engineering company BSP Consulting has promoted Pedro Navarro to associate and Oliver McElroy to principal engineer.
Both are members of the civil engineering team at BSP Consulting, with Pedro working in the Nottingham office and Oliver working out of the Derby office.
BSP Director Tony Goddard said: “These promotions are in recognition of their tireless technical work within the civils team and their proven ability encouraging and developing younger staff, managing project finances and going the extra mile to nurture positive client relationships.
“On behalf of everyone at BSP Consulting, I’d like to congratulate Pedro and Oliver and wish them well in their new roles.”
Pedro has been with BSP since June 2017, while Oliver joined in November 2020.
Mather Jamie:
Loughborough land development and property consultancy Mather Jamie has appointed David Cooney as a commercial valuation surveyor.
David joined the company from Deloitte where he was part of the property valuation team. He has also worked for the Valuation Office Agency as a district valuer, in addition to working within the valuation teams at Avison Young (GVA), Lloyds Bank & Norwich & Peterborough Building Society.
In these roles he dealt with valuations for developments, investments, tax, due diligence reviews, and audit reviews of valuations for financial statements. He also advised clients in relation to mergers and acquisitions of businesses to review property assets and liabilities.
In his new role he will provide similar advice and deal with all aspects of property valuations and lease reviews.
Meanwhile, Sam Tyler and Tim Jones have passed their Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) and are now professionally qualified Chartered Surveyors.
Andrew + Ashwell:
Andrew + Ashwell junior surveyor Joe Dodd has been made an associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (AssocRICS).
At 26, Joe is one of the Leicestershire-based commercial property specialist’s younger team members, previously gaining experience in agency and development work in his former role at Phillips Sutton and as a sales negotiator with residential agency William H Brown.
The former St Paul’s Catholic Secondary School, Evington student completed a building surveying diploma at The University College of Estate Management in 2018. He then took a break from the industry to run his own menswear fashion business and travel round Asia.
He returned to surveying in late 2020, joining A+A at the start of the second Covid lockdown, where he has maintained a firm focus on gaining his Associate RICS qualification, on the path to achieving full chartered surveyor status.
Armsons Barlow:
Derby-based project managers, construction cost consultants and building surveyors Armsons Barlow have appointed Kelly Ridgard as senior quantity surveyor.
Kelly brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously spent 20 years at main contractor B & K Building Services.
During her two decades there, she successfully delivered a range of schemes including commercial, industrial, and retail projects ranging from £300,000 to £10.5 million, including new builds and refurbishments for clients such as Ecclesbourne School and Twycross Zoo.
Kelly’s background in contracting has given her a strong skillset in the areas of design and build and traditional contracts. This, coupled with her expertise in measuring and managing costs and value engineering, makes her a valuable addition to the team at Armsons Barlow.
She said: “I am excited about the opportunities ahead and I am confident my skills and years of experience at a main contractor will enable me to make a significant contribution to the continued success of the company.”
Intercede:
Intercede, a cybersecurity software company specialising in digital identities, has appointed John Linwood as a non-executive director.
Mr Linwood has more than 40 years’ experience in the technology sector, delivering large scale technology led transformation projects in public, private and government organisations.
He has held management positions in global organisations including Yahoo, the Ministry of Defence, the BBC and Microsoft, where he spearheaded the creation and growth of MSN.
He sits on several boards, including the National Grid Energy System Operator and Brooks Macdonald Group plc.
The company, based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire, also announced that non-executive directors Chuck Pol and Rob Chandhok will step down from the Board in due course following an orderly transition of responsibilities.
