Names and faces of 23 Lancashire criminals jailed in May including killers, conmen and cowboy builders

A contract killer, a show-off driver and Lancashire’s most wanted fraudster are among those handed custodial sentences in May 2023.

In some cases, lengthy trials have been held in front of juries, while in others the criminals have pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity. But in all cases a judge has decided their crimes are so serious only a custodial sentence will suffice.

A wild-haired thug who threatened to kill a pregnant woman after leaving her with bleed on brain has been jailed.

Curtis Bamsey launched a ‘ferocious’ and prolonged attack against the woman at a Ribble Valley hotel causing her to lose consciousness. Detectives said as a member of the public drove the victim away from the scene, the 29-year-old shouted that he would kill her.
