Pasquale “Pat” Raimondo Obituary – The Providence Journal

Pasquale “Pat” Raimondo Obituary – The Providence Journal

RAIMONDO, PASQUALE, 73, of West Warwick, RI, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 28, 1949, in Grazzanise, Italy, Pasquale was the son of the late Antonio and Brigida (Palladino) Raimondo. He was happily married for 51 years to the love of his life, Susan M. (Pacheco) Raimondo.

As a young immigrant, Pasquale, known to family and friends as “Pat”, arrived in America with his two siblings and parents to pursue the American dream. Pat resided in West Warwick, RI, before moving to Coventry, RI, where he assisted his family in working at their pizza restaurant, Raimondo’s. The restaurant was well known and is still remembered by many today.

Pat graduated from Coventry High School in 1968 and went on to receive an associate’s degree from the New England Institute of Technology. Soon after, he opened his first business, Pat’s Arco Station, in West Warwick. After much success, he moved his business to its current location over 50 years ago, to West Warwick Avenue, and started Pat’s Service Station and Towing. His hard work, dedication, and deep commitment to serving his community were seen by all who knew him. Pat’s charitable nature and willingness to give back to his community were a testament to his character and compassion. He was always willing to lend a hand and support those in need without ever wanting recognition. Pat’s work ethic was something to be admired; he drove his MACK truck to tow a vehicle just weeks before his passing. Over the years, he was observed to be a true mentor to many. He was also the proprietor of P&P Auto Body on Tiogue Avenue in Coventry and Metro Security Company.

Although Pat loved his business, his driving force to succeed and the greatest joy in his life was his true love for his family. In 1981, when he bought land in West Warwick to build his home, he made sure to have enough for his daughters to build their homes around him. He cherished the holidays and Sunday dinners, where he cooked enough food to feed a village. He enjoyed grilling in the summer while watching his grandchildren play in the pool. He was the patriarch of our family and our guiding force and biggest inspiration. As a true leader, in addition to his family, many people sought his advice and guidance throughout his lifetime. His love of animals was evident and seen over the years through the many different animals he took into his home. Pat has left a significant hole in the hearts of all that loved him and will be missed beyond measurability.

Pat was a member of the Vincent Lombardi Lodge Order of Sons of Italy for over thirty years. He was proud of his Italian heritage, which was seen in the many Italian dishes he made for the people he loved.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his four daughters: Anna-Maria Raimondo-Licciardi and her husband, Jason; Lucy Raimondo-LaPorte and son-in-law, Leo LaPorte; Susan Raimondo-Banks and husband Richard; and Helen Raimondo-Aguiar and husband James. He was the grandfather, or “Pa,” to 15 grandchildren. Anthony L. LaPorte, Jack J. Sirmans, Joel K. Parks Jr., Alexia L. LaPorte, Olivia R. Licciardi, Aiden J. Aguiar, Jason E. Licciardi, Alyssa M. LaPorte, Richard P. Banks, AnnaBella G. Licciardi, Chloe H. Banks, Elliana H. Aguiar, Madelyn M. Aguiar, Joseph P. Licciardi, and the late Victoria L. Parks. He was the great-grandfather of Joel and Scarlett. He was the brother of Paul Raimondo and Philomena (Raimondo) Gustafson.
