Premier League 2023/24 odds as Nottingham Forest eye progress

Premier League 2023/24 odds as Nottingham Forest eye progress

The bookies are expecting Nottingham Forest to steer clear of Premier League relegation once again next season, though the odds suggest they could face another tough battle.

Forest have managed to retain their top flight status for another year by finishing 16th in their long-awaited first season back in the big time following promotion from the Championship. Safety was secured by a rousing 1-0 home win over eventual runners-up Arsenal in their penultimate fixture.

Steve Cooper’s side rounded off their campaign on Sunday with a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace. And the Reds can now start preparing for the 2023-24 season in earnest.

In the end Forest finished only three points behind 13th-placed Wolves, and were spared the stress of a final day scrap to beat the drop. They could watch on from a distance as Leicester City and Leeds United were relegated along with rock bottom Southampton, with Everton surviving thanks to victory over Bournemouth.

No sooner had the 2022-23 campaign finished, the bookmakers were setting up the markets for 2023-24. Forest are once again tipped to have four teams finish below them, in the form of the three promoted sides – Luton Town, Sheffield United and Burnley – plus Bournemouth. The Reds are 5/2 to go down, according to Sky Bet.

Meanwhile, Forest are 5/1 to finish in the top half of the table, 40/1 to claim an unexpected top-four spot and qualify for the Champions League. Or you could have a flutter on them to win the title at 750/1.
