Raids uncover £200,000 of cannabis plants at Hull properties

Cannabis worth almost £200,000 has been found at properties in Hull.

In separate raids, police targeted addresses in Croyland Avenue, off Holland Street, east Hull, and Hessle Road in west Hull. Officers found a total of 395 cannabis plants.

In the first raid, 132 plants, with an estimated street value of £66,000, were found in the Croyland Avenue property. Karolis Atkociunas, 27, of Croyland Avenue, Hull, was arrested and later appeared in court charged with production of cannabis.

In the second raid, 263 cannabis plants, worth around £131,500, were seized from the property in Hessle Road.

In a statement, Humberside Police said: “Two unconnected warrants executed at properties in Hull this week have resulted in 395 cannabis plants being seized, with an estimated street value of £197,500. On Monday, 5 June, upon searching a property on Croyland Avenue after a warrant was carried out, officers discovered a cannabis grow of around 132 plants, with an estimated street value of £66,000.

“Karolis Atkociunas, 27, of Croyland Avenue, Hull, was arrested at the property and later charged with production of cannabis. He appeared at Hull Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 6 June, and was remanded into custody to appear at court at a later date.
