Rangers transfer state of play on Tillman, Lammers and Panzo as Aaron Ramsey in life after Ibrox confession

Rangers transfer state of play on Tillman, Lammers and Panzo as Aaron Ramsey in life after Ibrox confession

It’s been anything but quiet at Rangers this summer.

A host of familiar faces said goodbye to allow the Michael Beale era to truly get started. A trio are already in the door with Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell and Jack Butland officially signed up. But more will follow in a summer revamp with Jose Cifuentes and Cyriel Dessers strongly tipped to head to Ibrox.

But, there are others, and we’ll get to them next, as Beale and the Rangers board aim to get the club rocking firstly with a return to the Champions League proper before giving champions Celtic a real fight in the race to the title. The Ibrox boss has plenty to sort in the coming weeks and he’s well up for the challenge. Record Sport runs the rule on the latest situation at Ibrox amid a frenzied summer.

Malik Tillman

He shared the love for Rangers on Tuesday, however, a pair of Premier League teams are aiming to win his heart this summer. Brentford have been namechecked but multiple reports south of the border claim Roberto De Zerbi is targeting a charm offensive to win over the Bayern Munich loanee. The 21-year-old is a wanted man and Brighton are expected to be in the market for a player Bayern are willing to sell this summer. Ibrox punters would like Tillman to return, however, De Zerbi is an admirer and could be primed to strike after landing a clutch of signings already with Europa League incoming.

Jonathan Panzo

The versatile Nottingham Forest defender – fresh off a loan switch to Premier League nearly men Coventry City – is mulling over what comes next with interest from Germany and England. Record Sport first revealed London-born Panzo was on Beale’s wishlist back in March and he’s now understood to be mulling over interest from elsewhere. But Rangers remain keen and the 22-year-old is set for a major call on what comes next.

Aaron Ramsey

The former Rangers man has left his Ibrox career in the past, however, he has opened up on what life has been like since his time in Glasgow and the challenges he faced in Ligue 1 with Nice. And the Wales legend also found time to address swirling rumours he’s going home to Cardiff. He said: “There’s always rumours going around, isn’t there? There is always that bit of noise. This season has been a success for me personally, I played a lot of games and some good football. The only thing missing was a few goals, but that will come again.

“The most challenging thing is being away from my family. That’s the situation I find myself in. “I’ve been away from my family and seeing the kids growing up, missing out, it’s always difficult. Difficult for anyone to go through, I imagine. Whatever we do going forward, we will be reunited and back together.”
