Ranking the four Liverpool home kits made by Nike from worst to best

Ranking the four Liverpool home kits made by Nike from worst to best

Nike have treated us to some classic kits in their first three years as Liverpool’s kit manufacturer – but how does the new 2023-24 shirt compare to its predecessors?

Football kits are like our very own pieces of nostalgia. One glance at the strip from a title-winning season and you will be immediately transported back to that time.

Nike took over as Liverpool’s kit manufacturer just after they won the title in 2020, but the Reds have still enjoyed some memorable times in the three seasons since – and here’s how Nike’s latest effort ranks…

4. 2022-23

For the football kit purists, this will no doubt be a popular shirt. However, for us, it doesn’t quite get the juices flowing quite as much as Nike’s other attempts.

The design is simple and classy and wouldn’t be outlandish enough to put anyone off. Perhaps as this kit has coincided with a dip in Liverpool’s form this season, we’ve subconsciously put it down a little. All in all though, a solid shirt.

3. 2021–22

This one always seemed like a bit of a marmite kit, but we’ve always seen the charm in it. There’s certainly plenty going on and it’s almost the opposite of Liverpool’s simple design from this season.

The orange highlights and slick diagonal stripes combine quite well to make a solid kit. Liverpool were on the verge of winning a quadruple in this strip and it will always hold a special place in the hearts of the fans.

2. 2020-21

The teal highlights give this shirt a feeling of uniqueness and we think it works. Inspired by the colours of the club crest, the creativity gleams through on this one. The subtle design on the front of the top also makes for a nice touch.

All in all, a very solid effort by Nike, but it has recently been pipped to first place.

1. 2023-24

Nike have really pulled it out of the bag this time. Like an infusion of a classic with a modern twist, this one is firing on all cylinders. It’s like they’ve taken the formula from last season and improved it on every element.

The white cuffs catch your eyes immediately and really bring this whole strip together. The sponsor, badge and Nike tick all complement each other brilliantly here to make a tidy-looking shirt.

Liverpool will be entering into a new era under Jurgen Klopp next season and their players will be doing so in style. This kit gets a chef’s kiss from us.
