In an interview with ComicBook.com, Davila gave an update on Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies season 2 and said that she’s heard “positive” things about the show’s future but can’t say if the Paramount+ prequel will return. If the show is renewed, the actor mentions that she would like to see more of Jane’s role as class president and an exploration of the sisterly relationship that Jane has with Frenchy (Madison Elizabeth Lagares). Read Davila’s response below:

“I have so many things, I’ve spoken to Annabel [Oakes], our creator, and I’d love to build my sister relationship more with Frenchy. We have those very cute bits and moments throughout the season, but I think … I am a younger sister. I have an older sister in real life, and the amount of history that we have as sisters, so many sister fights, and so I want that from Frenchy and Jane. I’ve been taking tap classes since I got back from Season 1 because it’s one of my favorite dance genres, and I’ve been obsessed with it as a kid, so I’ve just been brushing up on that, and hinting to the creators that I would like a tap number.”

“And then in terms of just Jane, I want to see what she does in her role as [class] president for now. We’ve seen her fight to win, and then not win, and then finally get the position, so what is she going to do with it now? Is she going to make the right decision? Is she going to get overwhelmed and influenced by other people to make different … politics are messy, and does she really know what she’s doing? She’ll probably learn along the way … and there’s something else that I asked Annabel about, too, I was like, ‘We didn’t really ever see them doing homework.’ I was like, if I did any of that in high school, I would have an F in all of my classes. So maybe I could attend some actual classes. Who knows? It’s really not up to me. Plus, I trust the writers.”

What To Expect From Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies Season 2

The cast of Grease Rise of the Pink Ladies standing in the halls

A lot happens in the Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies finale. There’s a drag race between Jane and Susan (Thompson) to determine whether Buddy (Schmidt) or Richie (Nieves) should return to Rydell after their expulsion. Ultimately, even though Susan wins, Buddy forfeits his chance to return. On another front, Hazel (Bailey) officially joins the Pink Ladies. As for Olivia (Wells), she calls off her wedding to Mr. Daniels (Chris McNally), but more looks to be revealed about what led Olivia to make that choice.

One of the most exciting threads that a potential Rise of the Pink Ladies season 2 can pick up on, in addition to the fallout from Olivia’s surprising decision, is the mystery Grease character that’s introduced. There’s a hint that Jane has a history with a person named Zuko, potentially the brother of Daniel Zuko (John Travolta) from the iconic movie, but that is not confirmed.

There’s a lot to pick up from whether Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies is brought back for a second round of songs and high school drama. Hopefully, considering the unresolved storylines and the tease of a familiar last name, the musical comedy gets the green light to build on the foundation of its first outing.
