South Adelaide defeated Norwood by 34 points under lights on Friday night at Coopers Stadium in round 11 of the Torrens University SANFL U18s.

After a tight and low-scoring first term, the visiting Panthers were able to get some separation on the scoreboard, led by a dominant midfield.

Returning to the Panthers line-up, tough midfielder Tom Wheaton was dominant around the ground, kicking three goals along with his outstanding 15 clearances and 32 disposals.

Forward Jay Polkinghorne had a day to remember for the Redlegs, booting five goals and taking eight marks.

Central District maintained its position at the top of the ladder with a 19-point win over North Adelaide at Prospect Oval.

The Bulldogs gained an early lead and never looked back, running out comfortable winners against North, who beat Central by just seven points in round three.

Tom Cochrane was the leading ball-winner for the visitors with 24 disposals, as Riley McDonald battled hard for his team on the inside.

Angus Tully was at his prolific best for the Roosters, gathering 34 disposals with Owen Kalic and Hugh Payze also among North’s best.

Sturt jumped into the top four with a 21-point triumph over rivals Glenelg at Wigan Oval.

In a relatively low-scoring affair, the Double Blues always looked in control despite never putting great distance between themselves and the Bays on the scoreboard.

Ben Camporeale had the ball on a string for the Bays, collecting 37 disposals, 12 marks and 10 clearances, and Charlie McAuliffe kicked four goals. Michael Smith and Beau Symonds were among Glenelg’s best.
