Scales of Justice results from Oxford Magistrates’ Court

RICARDO FERREIRA, 29, of Bracknell Road, Abingdon, admitted threatening to disclose a private sexual photograph of a woman with intent to cause distress and damaging a bathroom door and microwave oven belonging to the same woman. He received a restraining order and a community order with up to 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days. The magistrates ordered he pay £180 in costs and surcharge.

JACOB BRYANT, 30, of Taunton Road, Bridgwater, admitted assaulting a man in Witney in July 2021, causing him actual bodily harm. He was ordered to do 80 hours of unpaid work and pay £350 in compensation.

KEVIN GARDE, 35, of Dellsome Lane, Hatfield, admitted possession of a kitchen knife in Cornmarket last June. He was jailed for six months and ordered to pay £239 in costs and surcharge.

KARNEL STASTNY, 37, of no fixed address, admitted four charges of stealing bicycles in Banbury. He was sentenced to a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement and must pay more than £900 in compensation.

EDWARD HENTHORN, 28, of Furrow Crescent, Witney, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of blood at Abingdon police station last October. He was fined £225, banned from driving for three years and ordered to pay £190 in costs and surcharge.

JUSTIN COOPER, 40, of Balfour Road, Oxford, admitted assault by beating and stalking. The latter charge involved him sending his victim messages, following her and going to her home address. The stalking was committed in Oxford between September last year and this January. He received 24 weeks’ imprisonment suspended for two years, must abide by a mental health rehabilitation requirement and a restraining order limiting contact with his victim, and was ordered to pay £239 in costs and surcharge.

WILLIAM BECKETT, 24, of Nightingale Place, Bicester, admitted possession of cannabis in the town in February. He was fined £276 and ordered to pay £195 in costs and surcharge. The drugs were forfeit.

MADELINE GOODWIN, 47, of Wynbush Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to drink driving a Mini One in Ashurst Way, Oxford, in October. Tests showed she had 142mlgs of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 80. She was fined £300, banned for 17 months and ordered to pay £205 in costs and surcharge.

JAMES SMITH, 45, of Donnington Bridge Road, Oxford, admitted driving a VW Golf in Kings End, Bicester, while disqualified from holding a licence and without insurance. The offences were committed on January 17. He received a £400 fine, six penalty points, and must pay £245 in costs and surcharge.

KAMI WALLS, 18, of Nowell Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to assaulting a female police officer in the city on March 11. Walls received a £500 fine and was ordered to pay £285 in costs and surcharge.
