Half time change for Barnsley
Norwood replaces Tedic in attack. Norwood has already scored twice against the Owls this season.
The big day has finally come. Sheffield Wednesday go head-to-head with Barnsley in the League One play-off final. Not only are local bragging rights on the line, but promotion to the Championship is also at stake.
It will be the 60th match of the Owls’ season and the first time they have played at the national stadium since 2016. Darren Moore’s troops produced an astonishing comeback against Peterborough United in the semi-finals to keep their promotion dream alive.
Although Barnsley won both meetings during the regular league season, Wednesday enter the South Yorkshire derby as big favourites to go up. Over 43,000 Wednesdayites will cheer on Moore’s side in the capital.

A forgettable 50 minutes of football.
Both sides failed to take the game by the scruff off the neck.
A big improvement is required from the Owls in the second half.

Five minutes to be added on.

It’s been a tight, tense affair so far. Wednesday have had the better of the chances but still nothing to separate them. That’s probably, in truth, how we expected it to pan out but surely the game will open up more? Let’s hope so and that the Owls can turn the screw and give that wall of blue-and-white something to really cheer about…

The mercurial forward has not got into this one. He has been starved of the ball.
This could be a long old afternoon at this rate.
15:33Dom Howson
Cadden drills a shot high over the top after a poor clearance from Bannan from a Barnsley corner.
15:31Dom Howson
This has been a pretty drab affair. Certainly not a great watch for the neutral.
15:25Dom Howson
It’s a chance for both teams to take stock.
15:23Dom Howson
Both teams are doing a good job of cancelling each other out.
Defences are well on top.
There has been a lack of quality in the final third.
15:16Dom Howson
Barnsley have just created their first chance of note.
Phillips lifts a shot over when well-placed. Bannan did just enough to put him off.
It has been pretty even so far.

Paterson is back on his feet after receiving treatment from the Owls’ medical team. Play resumes.
15:12Dom Howson
Paterson is down after an aeriel duel with Isted. That was a nasty one.
15:10Dom Howson
What a chance for the Owls to take the lead.
Iorfa, unmarked from 10 yards out, fires straight at Isted after Paterson neatly knocked down Palmer’s cross.
15:08Dom Howson
Windass dinks a cross into the box. The ball drops to Bannan, whose volley is blocked by Thomas.
Corner to Owls.

Wednesday have wasted no time in launching long balls up to Smith. Hasn’t stuck yet but it doesn’t look like they are going to be trying to play out too often from the back today.

Wednesday get us under way.

This is what football is all about. Wednesday fans are enjoying themselves in the sunshine.

Huge cheers from the Owls end as the team is read out.
There’s a carnival atmosphere.
The big question now is which Owls team will turn up? Peterborough first leg or Peterborough second leg?
14:30Dom Howson
They are absolutely perfect, aren’t they? Wembley is bathed in sunshine.
It is a beautiful day but it is not too hot. Will be interesting to see if there are drinks breaks.
14:17Dom Howson
The Wednesday end is filling up nicely to the left of the press box.
Both teams are going through their warm up drills.
It is a monumental day for the Owls. Let’s hope the team rises to the occasion.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Darren Moore has named his team to face Barnsley in today’s League One play-off final at Wembley.
And it is pretty straightforward with the Owls’ manager naming the same XI that started the miracle comeback against Peterborough earlier this month.

Will be dropping in just over 20 minutes.
Will Moore go with an unchanged starting XI?
Will Byers be in the squad?
Could Windass be up front?
Will Palmer be in midfield again?
So many questions. We will get the answers very soon.

To see the sea of blue and white in and around Wembley will be a memorable vision. Bring your voices to drive the players forward, this is not a day in the sunshine, this is a day to behold for your club. The next hurdle is the final one today and we need your support.

That Wednesday finished third with 96 points – the highest-ever tally not to earn automatic promotion since the introduction of three points for a win in the 1981 – is testament to the quality and strength of the division.

This is Sheffield Wednesday’s third EFL play-off final – they won their first 4-2 in extra-time in 2004-05 against Hartlepool United in League One, but lost their most recent final 1-0 against Hull City in the Championship in 2015-16.• Sheffield Wednesday haven’t lost three meetings against a specific opponent in a single season since 2003-04, when they lost four times against Blackpool.
Sheffield Wednesday became the first team in the history of the EFL play-offs to reach the final after losing the first leg of the semi-final by a four-goal margin, losing 4-0 in the first leg against Peterborough United before winning 5-1 in the second leg and progressing 5-3 on penalties.
Sheffield Wednesday won three of their first four games at Wembley (1935 FA Cup vs West Brom, 1991 League Cup final vs Man Utd, 1993 FA Cup semi-final vs Sheffield United) but are winless in their last four visits to the national stadium (D1 L3), with their most recent visit a 1-0 defeat to Hull in the 2016 Championship play-off final.
Sheffield Wednesday have scored 104 goals in all competitions this season, their most in a single campaign since scoring 106 in the 1992-93 season, when they were a top-flight side.
Including the play-offs, Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan has created the most chances in League One (133), played the most passes into the opposition box (512) and completed the most crosses (118) of any player. In all competitions this season, only Michael Smith (29) and Josh Windass (22) have more goals and assists for the Owls than Bannan (20 – 7 goals, 13 assists)
