Sky Sports pundit reacts to Rangers links to Grant

Kevin Campbell believes that West Brom may find it hard to resist an offer from Rangers for striker Karlan Grant this summer.

Sunday Mirror journalist Darren Witcoop claimed in May that the Scottish giants are looking at a move for the Baggies forward.

The 25-year-old moved to the Hawthorns in 2020 for a £15million fee but has fallen in the pecking order and is struggling for game time under Carlos Corberan

Discussing this exclusively with West Brom News, Campbell, a Sky Sports pundit said, “I think they are going to find it hard to say no to a move because he didn’t play enough.

“I’m not sure whether Carlos Corberan fancies him enough.

“So I think he might have his move this summer. Grant will be saying to himself, ‘I’ll move on and huge club Rangers as they’re knocking on the door every season.’

“They’ve got a new manager in who obviously sees time to start moving and shaking in that league.

“He’s going to want to bring fresh blood in and we know when Grant does get going, he’s hard to stop.

“So that might be a good move.“

Grant, who can play as a number 10 as well on the left flank found goals extremely hard to come by for West Brom this past season.

He made 31 league appearances and managed a goal return of just three – appalling numbers for a striker who started the campaign as one of the top goal-scoring options at the club.

If the finances are right in the deal, there is a feeling that the Baggies may be willing to cash in on him this summer.

Rangers are looking for a top striker to replace Alfredo Morelos who’s set to leave once his deal runs out at the end of June.
