The unique planetarium cinema 35 minutes from Surrey where you can watch films under stars
Families can enjoy a cinema experience like no other this summer at a venue just outside Surrey. Every Sunday between July 23 and August 27, Winchester Science Centre’s Starlight Cinema is back for a summer spectacular.
For just £1, kids can watch some of Disney’s best-loved family films – including Toy Story, The Lion King and Aladdin – play out under a blanket of stars in the Planetarium.
Then, on August 27, the action heads outside under the real stars of the South Downs National Park. Families are invited to end the summer with style by singing along to family favourite Encanto or heading off on a mini adventure with Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
When the Science Centre doors close, the cinema screen will be rolling. Following sold out screenings of Back to the Future, Jurassic Park and E.T., families can once again spend the day exploring the science exhibits and live shows before grabbing some popcorn and settling in for some movie fun.
And with 90s classics such as Toy Story and The Lion King on the bill, it’ll be a trip down memory lane for the grown-ups. Located in Winchester, the science centre has parking and is easy to get to from Surrey – it takes 35 minutes’ drive down the M3 from Farnham or Frimley.
