A cat who could very well be the UK’s grumpiest has been stuck in a shelter for 100 days, with potential owners put off by his demeanour.

Flash is nine years old and was discovered as a stray.

While desperate for a home, he has had little interest while being at Blue Cross’ rehoming centre in Burford, Stoke on Trent Live reports.

Staff at the centre believe Flash is simply misunderstood, and have branded him the “grumpiest cat in Oxfordshire”.

Elisha Webber, Animal Welfare Assistant at Blue Cross in Burford, described Flash as ‘sweet’ and that staff have fallen in love with him.

She said: “He’s a sweet boy and quite a character and we’ve all fallen in love with him.

“He’s definitely a cat who prefers human company rather than a lapcat.
