A jury unanimously found Adnan guilty of one count each of S18 grievous bodily harm with intent and common assault. On June 10, 2022, the victim, a man in his forties, was finishing his night shift at the Shell Garage in Bath Road at 6am.

Adnan arrived for his shift and asked his colleague to help him with a ‘stuck office door’. Adnan also told the store manager to stay on the tills to keep him away.

When the victim went to open the stuck door, Adnan pulled a large kitchen knife on the victim and shouted at him stating he would kill him. Adnan tried to stab the victim multiple times in the chest, but the victim managed to deflect most of them.

The store manager tried to disarm Adnan but he stabbed the victim in his calf and cut his knee. The store manager eventually managed to disarm Adnan but he picked up a kitchen fork and stabbed at the victim’s neck and other areas.
