Wells & Hardman Homers Not Enough for Patriots Against Portland

Austin Wells and Tyler Hardman once again crushed the long ball for the Somerset Patriots, but it was not enough in a 4-3 loss to the Portland SeaDogs. The loss snaps a three-game winning streak for Somerset.

The Patriots can win this six-game series with a victory on Sunday afternoon at 1:05.

Wells and Hardman went back-to-back with home runs in the bottom of the first inning to jump start the Patriots to a 2-0 lead, just moments after the franchise commemorated 25 years at TD Bank Ballpark.

Wells’ homer was his ninth of the year overall, and eighth this season with Somerset.

Hardman’s blast, which left the bat at 111.5 mph, was the slugger’s 11th of the year.

The Patriots couldn’t maintain that lead as Blas Castano was charged with all four runs for Portland.

The Sea Dogs tied the game on a two-run double by Phillip Sikes in the fourth inning. A RBI ground out by Ceddanne Rafaela put the Dogs in front 3-2 in the fifth. Finally Niko Kavadas hit a solo shot in the sixth to put Portland up 4-2.

The Patriots woud chip away in the seventh on Jasson Dominguez’s RBI single, but they could capitalize on a great opportunity with two runners on and one out in the bottom of the eighth when Jession Rosario struck out and Anthony Seigler was thrown out at second base.

It can always be difficult getting gifts for the men in the family however, these killer Father’s Day gifts for new dads are bound to hit it out of the park.

Don’t want to blow your mind here, but according to TheWorldCounts.com, there are about 385,000 babies born every single day. That adds up to 140 million each year. Now, not all of those babies being born are to first time dads but a lot of them might be.

We want this to be the ultimate guide to helping new dads into their new roles.

So what do you get a new (or soon-to-be) dad? Well, that can be complicated. Unfortunately, us guys aren’t always as in tune to what we need. Usually, future grandmothers give first-time-moms all the things they need. Or even girlfriends of the momma-to-be are making sure they have EVERYTHING they need.

I can speak from experience, not a single one of my buddies, nor my dad, have given me anything to get me prepared for becoming a dad. And I don’t blame them!! I haven’t gotten any of my friends who just became dads anything to get them ready. Guys think differently so it’s hard to gift them anything at all!

At least dads have this amazing mashup, hopefully this makes you laugh and smile.

Gifts for new dads aren’t easy but we think we nailed them all down with this list. One at a time, just put these into your shopping cart, throw them into a big box (don’t even need to wrap it) and give it to the new dad in your life, he will love it.
