Wells leads state champ Coahoma in postseason honors

Wells was also named the MVP after Coahoma’s 4-2 win over Kingsville Santa Gertrudis Academy in the state championship game.

Coahoma also dominated the All-District 6-3A Softball Team superlatives that was just released.

Wells garnered District MVP honors, Clemmer earned Offensive MVP, junior Makayla Calvio shared co-Pitching MVP honors with Merkel junior Josie Whitehead, sophomore Avery Rodriguez was named Designated Player of the Year, Burt earned Utility Player of the Year and Alexander Orosco and his staff honored as the Coach of the Year.

Coahoma also had six first team selections with Lang, Wright, senior shortstop Christian Everett, junior first baseman Brynn Rodgers, sophomore right fielder Kaedyn Lee and sophomore second baseman Nevaeh Kerby.

Jim Ned junior center fielder Briana Jones was named Defensive MVP, Markel junior Jaycee Tumlinson earned Catching MVP, and Jim Ned freshman catcher Baylee Shriver and Merkel freshman utility player Madison Williams were co-Newcomers of the Year.
