Coventry parents outraged over ‘bedding Essex girls’ play

Angry parents have condemned a Coventry school after discovering that their children have been learning about a play centred around ‘drink driving and bedding Essex girls.’ Students have been learning about the crude play at Caludon Castle School.

Children as young as 12 have been told to re-enact scenes from ‘Too Much Punch For Judy.’ One disgruntled parent said they found out this week that they had been learning about a scene called ‘A Night on the P**s.’

In the play written by Mark Wheeller, two friends, named Bob and Nob, go searching for ‘talent’ and talk about plying Essex girls with alcohol to stop them thinking before ‘going in for the kill’. One line goes on to say: “Get ’em drinking.”

Other lines of the play which sparked anger from parents include: “How do you like your eggs in the morning? Fertilised?” and “Hide the blemish… fake a tan. Glistening lips to tempt a man.”

Parent Laura Axton, from Coventry, described the text as ‘disgusting’ and has called for the script to be banned at Caludon Castle School. She said: “I truly feel this is a safeguarding issue as this material was pushed on the children who clearly stated they did not feel comfortable with it and were expected to act it out.

“Acting out this explicit sexual material, well, it is perverse and plants seeds into the minds of children who previously held an innocence naturally expected for their age. It includes body shaming, ideas of rape, getting girls drunk to take advantage of them, making girls feel they will only be accepted if they tart themselves up or ‘put out’, and using suggestive language not age-appropriate.”
