Every player linked with joining Burnley this summer transfer window as Jack Clarke Sunderland bid made
Burnley are now full steam ahead preparing for life back in the Premier League after promotion back to the top flight was secured at the first time of asking.
Vincent Kompany masterminded a complete transformation of the Clarets after being installed at Turf Moor last summer. Burnley ended up sealing promotion back in the top flight with seven games to spare and were 10 points clear at the division’s summit.
They will be joined by Sheffield United and Luton Town in the 2023/24 Premier League season. The trio replace Leeds United, Southampton and Leicester City who were relegated to the Championship.

The Clarets are seeking reinforcements ahead of the return to the top flight. They have already made two after converting a pair of their loan signings from last season into permanent deals.
An option was exercised in Jordan Beyer’s loan deal from Borussia Monchengladbach and he has penned a four-year deal at Turf Moor. Michael Obafemi, who signed in January, will also become a Burnley player on a permanent basis this summer after joining on loan initially from Swansea City.
Ahead of the return to the top flight, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive with the Clarets being linked with players left, right and centre.
Here’s a round-up of all the players to have been linked with a move to Turf Moor in the gossip columns. This will be updated as the summer progresses and more names emerge.
Georges Mikautadze
Burnley’s interest in Georges Mikautadze has resurfaced, with reports that the Clarets have tabled ‘an opening offer’ for the Metz centre-forward.
Vincent Kompany’s men were linked with a summer move for the Georgia international last summer, but the Belgian boss admitted that Mikautadze was “probably out of range” for the Turf Moor side. But the latest reports suggest that the 22-year-old is keen to continue his career in the Premier League, with Kompany claimed to ‘love’ the striker and view him as the ideal profile for Burnley.
Jack Clarke
Jack Clarke of Sunderland has been linked with a switch to Turf Moor.
International transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that the Clarets, Brentford and Crystal Palace have all ‘submitted bids’ for the player – whom Sunderland are currently ‘negotiating a new deal’ for.
Alan Nixon claims on his Patreon account that the Clarets have now submitted a bid of £7m plus add-ons for Clarke’s services. The Black Cats are thought to be holding out for some £10m for Clarke.
Fabio Carvalho
Burnley are keen on bringing Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool to Turf Moor this summer.
The attacking midfielder has attracted interest from the Clarets, according to Football Insider, and Kompany’s side are said to be open to both a permanent or loan transfer this summer.
Han-Noah Massengo
Free agent Han-Noah Massengo, whose contract at Bristol City is up this summer. The Robins have offered the Frenchman a new deal, despite him being loaned out to Auxerre in the second half of last season after falling out of favour under Nigel Pearson.
Foot Mercato report that Burnley are eyeing a move for the 21-year-old, who joined Bristol City from Monaco for a reported £7.2million fee in the summer of 2019.
Ryan Kent
Ryan Kent is a free agent this summer after departing Scottish giants Rangers.
The Daily Mail reported in April that Burnley had stepped up their efforts to land Kent. They state that Burnley have ‘declared their interest’ in Kent.
Gift Orban
KAA Gent’s Nigerian forward Gift Orban has been linked with a move to the Clarets.
According to RMC Sport, Burnley are joined by Bundesliga sides FC Union and Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as Galatasaray for the 20-year-old.
Arkadiusz Milik
Burnley and Newcastle United are reportedly keen on Marseille striker Arkadiusz Milik.
Il Corriere Dello Sport reports that the Clarets and the Magpies are seeking the forward, who spent the season on loan at Juventus. A fee of between £6m and £7m is mentioned.
Ike Ugbo
Burnley have been credited with an interest in Troyes striker Ike Ugbo – who is also a reported target for Rangers.
The Scottish Premier League side are said to be ‘on the trail’ of the former Chelsea man – whom ‘Gers boss Michael Beale knows from his time at Stamford Bridge. It’s claimed, however, that the Clarets are ‘also keen’ on the 24-year-old.
Fabian Ruiz
Burnley have been credited with an interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz.
Foot Mercato report that the Clarets are considering a sensational move for the Spain international – who cost the French side a reported €25million. Ruiz is under contract until 2027 however – and claimed to be happy at PSG, where he is on a big contract.
Michy Batshuayi
The Clarets, West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Everton are said to be keeping tabs on Michy Batshuayi this summer.
Journalist Ekrem Konur claimed on Twitter that the Clarets are monitoring the Fenerbache forward’s situation.
Cody Drameh
Burnley hold an interest in Leeds United defender Cody Drameh, LancsLive understands.
The Clarets made several enquiries about the right-back over the course of last season, with him having been on Burnley’s radar for a long time. Drameh is entering the final year of his contract at Leeds United and is unlikely to pen fresh terms at Elland Road as things stand.
Sergio Gomez
Manchester City’s Sergio Gomez could head to Burnley this summer, should Raphael Guerreiro head to the Etihad Stadium.
Gomez is down the pecking order at City and The Sun reports that the Clarets could swoop for him, especially if Guerreiro heads to City on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund.
Mike Tresor
Mike Tresor has admitted his admiration for the Clarets and their boss Kompany.
The Clarets have been linked with the Genk wide man – with Kompany’s interest in the player having first materialised last summer. Genk boss, Wouter Vrancken, joked back in January how he had told Kompany to ‘just stay away from him’ after the Burnley boss had enquired about his availability.
Bart Verbruggen
Burnley were heavily linked with Anderlecht goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen last summer, before opting to sign Aro Muric.
The Sun reports that Kompany will return for Verbruggen this summer. A price tag of around £15m has been mentioned for the Anderlecht stopper, who is at Kompany’s former side, but the goalkeeper has also emerged as a potential target for Manchester United.
James Trafford
Manchester City could accept around £15m for goalkeeper James Trafford this summer, amid interest from Burnley, according to Football Insider.
Kompany watched Trafford in action for Bolton Wanderers, where he has been for the last 18 months on loan, as the Clarets could make a move for the England under-21 international this summer.
Victor Nelsson
Burnley could face a battle with now fellow Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion for Galatasaray’s defender Victor Nelsson.
Turkish outlet Takvim, the English clubs are both seeking the 24-year-old during the summer transfer window.
Albert Sambi Lokonga
The Clarets have also been linked by Football Insider with a move this summer for Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga, who is currently on loan at Crystal Palace. Lokonga has worked previously with Clarets boss Vincent Kompany when the duo were at Belgian side Anderlecht.
Amad Diallo
Manchester United prospect Amad Diallo has attracted the interests of several Premier League sides after his impressive season on loan with Sunderland.
The Northern Echo reports that the Clarets, Everton and West Ham United are interested in his services. The Black Cats also want the attacker back, but can only offer Championship football next season, rather than top-flight action.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis
The Clarets unsurprisingly want Taylor Harwood-Bellis to return after a successful loan spell from Manchester City.
But they face competition from the likes of Newcastle United, Fulham and also West Ham United for the defender’s services, according to Football Insider.
Ian Maatsen
Chelsea have set a £20m asking price for Ian Maatsen this summer if they are to sell the defender this summer.
Maatsen is approaching the final 12 months of his Chelsea deal. Burnley have had a bid of £15m for the left-back turned down by the Stamford Bridge side, according to numerous reports, as they seek the maximum fee possible for the defender.
Nathan Tella
It is no surprise that Burnley want Nathan Tella back at Turf Moor next season after ending the campaign as the club’s top scorer.
Initial talks have taken place between the top sides but are expected to intensify as the transfer window nears its official opening, with the window opening domestically on June 14.
