Full list of parts of M40 and A34 which will face road closures this week

This week there are plenty of closures on the M40 and the A34.

A weekly report of the major roadworks in Oxfordshire has been released by National Highways.

Yesterday, National Highways “apologised” for the traffic jams and disruption which were caused by shutting off the A34 southbound between Peartree and Botley.

In addition to more A34 closures at the weekend so essential works on the Wolvercote Viaduct can continue, a lane one closure will remain in place on the A34 south between the Peartree Interchange and A423 Hinksey Hill due to planned Southern Gas works.

This closure of one lane will remain in place until Friday and is responsible for adding 30 minutes onto normal journey times.

• A34 Southbound- Whitchurch entry slip road closure from May 15 at 9:00pm until May 16 at 6:00am

• A34 Southbound- Peartree to South Hinksey carriageway closure from May 15 at 9:00pm until May 16 at 6:00am

• A34 Northbound- Whitchurch exit slip road closure from May 16 at 9:00pm until May 17 at 6:00am

• A34 Northbound- Abingdon entry slip road closure from May 16 at 9:00pm until May 17 at 6:00am

• A34 Southbound- Litchfield exit slip road closure from May 17 at 9:00pm until May 19 at 6:00am

• A34 Southbound- Litchfield entry slip road closure from May 17 at 9:00pm until May 19 at 6:00am

• A34 Southbound- Peartree exit slip road closure from May 18 at 9:00pm until May 19 at 6:00am

• A34 Southbound- Peartree to Botley carriageway from May 19 at 9:00pm until May 22 at 6:00am

• A34 Southbound- Three Maids Hill exit slip road closure from May 19 at 9:00pm until May 20 at 6:00am

• M40 Southbound- Junction 5 Southbound entry slip road closure from May 15 at 9:30pm until May 17 at 6:00am

• M40 Northbound- Junction 1a Northbound exit slip road closure from May 15 at 10:00pm until May 18 at 5:00am

• M40 Southbound- Junction 9 Southbound carriageway closure from May 19 at 9:30pm until May 20 at 6:00am
