Roberto Firmino’s reaction to hearing his chant will leave Liverpool fans in tears

‘There’s something that the Kop wants you to know, the best in the world his name is Bobby Firmino.’ Chances are, if you watched Leicester v Liverpool, you’ll still have that chant stuck in your head.

Liverpool fans are some of the most creative when it comes to formulating a chant or two and their song for Firmino is absolutely top drawer.

Given the Brazilian forward is leaving at the end of the season, it’s only right that Liverpool fans have his song on repeat for the next few weeks.

Firmino is a player who has given everything for the shirt. Jurgen Klopp even built his first team around the Brazilian, with him dictating play from the false-nine position.

He alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah formed one of the most formidable front threes the Premier League has ever seen. Season after season they continued to deliver as a trio in the big moments.

After 360 appearances for the club and over 100 goals, Firmino has decided to start a new chapter in the summer. With his contract set to expire, this seems like the right time to move on.

In the second half against Leicester, Liverpool fans burst into life as they serenaded the 31-year-old with his chant for 11 minutes straight. His reaction to hearing the song is just as wholesome.

All good things must come to an end, but it will be strange to see Firmino donning another shirt other than Liverpool after all these years.

“It was so cool. I’ve never seen anything like that (for somebody who wasn’t playing),” Klopp in his post-match interview.

“I think he has a chance of playing (against Aston Villa). We drive home, Tuesday is a day off – not for him but for the others – and then Wednesday he will be in team training, that is my information.

“We have to see. The Saturday game is a super difficult game for plenty of reasons. Probably farewell around the game for a few players, and then playing for absolutely everything against the second or third-best team in the Premier League for the second part of the season. That’s super challenging.”

All of the Liverpool squad joined in on the fun at full-time as Firmino himself went over to the travelling fans to show his appreciation. Is someone cutting onions over here?

Players like Firmino deserve a fairytale ending and we hope that he features in some way against Aston Villa. Being his last chance to feature in front of the Anfield crowd, we’re sure that it’ll be one hell of an atmosphere.

The Brazilian has never scored against Aston Villa, but could it be written in the stars for him to score at Anfield one last time? We sure hope so.
