Rod Stewart at Home Park: Everything you need to know ahead of this weekend

Rod Stewart at Home Park: Everything you need to know ahead of this weekend

Legendary performer Sir Rod Stewart is heading to Plymouth to kick off his run of special UK summer shows on Saturday night. This weekend will be the third time Sir Rod has played in Britain’s Ocean City – he packed out the Home Park stadium back in 2016 and 2009 too.

The singer will also be visiting Northampton’s Cinch Stadium, Durham’s Seat Unique Riverside, Bristol’s Badminton Estate in Worcester Park and Sewell Group Craven in Hull. Fans can also expect to see Boy George & Culture Club to join him on stage as a special guest.

Talking about his fans and experience while on tour, Rod Stewart has said: “My favourite memories have been summer nights with a beer or two alongside the best fans in the world.

“I’m impatiently awaiting this summer playing at a variety of special venues – football, cricket and rugby stadiums, estates and castles! We’ll all be dancing under the stars.”

Sir Rod Stewart has been widely acclaimed as the most remarkable singer of his era. He has collected an extensive number of the industry’s most prestigious accolades, including two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the ASCAP Founders Award for song writing, the title of New York Times bestselling author, the esteemed Grammy™ Living Legend recognition, and in 2016, he was bestowed the honour of being knighted by Prince William at Buckingham Palace, becoming ‘Sir Rod Stewart’ in recognition of his contributions to music and philanthropy.

In order to ensure a stress free night, Home Park have advised concert goers to plan their journey ahead of time for the gig on Saturday, June 24. Home Park Stadium is easily located along Outland Road, a 20-25 minute walk from the city centre and doors are due to open at 4.30pm.

There is no parking available at the stadium, so visitors are encouraged to find alternative modes of transport.

Walk: Home Park strongly encourages those who are able to walk to the stadium.

Bus: Normal bus routes that pass the stadium on Alma Road and Outland Road will be in operation until midnight. You can find existing timetables with City Bus and Stagecoach.

Car: There is no parking available at Home Park. There is very limited parking available at the Milehouse Park and Ride, adjacent to the stadium which we expect to be taken very quickly. Special concert park and ride buses will be running from the George and Coypool Park and Ride sites.

Park and ride: Park and Ride sites are available at George and Coypoll. Park and Ride sites are a first come, first served basis. A shuttle bus will transport you from both locations to the stadium.

If both sites are full by the time you arrive, you can park in the city centre car parks. A special bus service will be available. There is more information on this below. The Sir Rod Stewart concert Park and Ride is being run by Plymouth Citybus on Saturday.
