Shane Filan Celebrates Wife’s Birthday With ‘Weekend Of Celebrations’

Shane Filan has shared adorable photos from the weekend of celebrations to mark his wife Gillian Walsh’s birthday.

Shane married Gillian back in 2003, and shared a peek into her birthday celebrations over the weekend with fans — which included her receiving a bouquet of flowers, enjoying a lovely cake with Happy Birthday written on a plate during celebrations in a restaurant, and birthday cards in the couple’s home.

‘Happy birthday babe! @gillianfilansligo,’ Shane wrote alongside a party and heart emoji. ‘What a great weekend of celebrations.’

Friends of the couple wished Gillian a happy birthday, including Pippa O’Connor Ormond, who wrote ‘happy birthday @gillianfilansligo,’ while Nicky Byrne’s wife Georgina commented ‘happy birthday’ alongside a flower and cupcake emoji.

Shane and Gillian were childhood sweethearts before marrying in Ballintubber Abbey in Co Mayo back in 2003 — with the nuptials making Shane and his Westlife bandmate Kian Egan cousins-in-law, as he’s Gillian’s cousin.

Shane and the rest of Westlife completed the Asian leg of their Wild Dreams tour back in February, where they toured the world (sans Mark Feehily, who was stricken with pneumonia for a few weeks mid-tour) including four shows in Dublin’s 3Arena.

Shane, Mark, Nicky and Kian will continue their tour with shows in Sweden and Denmark next week, before playing Mexico, Cardiff and Oxfordshire this summer. They’ll then play four gigs in South Africa to wrap up the tour, which began in 2021, in November.
