Charming New Forest pub opens with large sunny garden in tiny hamlet with horses

A pub has reopened in a small hamlet of the New Forest following a refurbishment, and it is a must-visit if you’re around that area this summer. Located 75-minutes drive from Farnham, The High Corner Inn, Linwood welcomed back customers during the first week of June, just in time for the lovely weather.

This 17th Century pub and inn has been completely reimagined and remodelled, and is conveniently located on the pathway of lots of walking, running, cycling and horse-riding trails. On that note, horse lovers will be in their element, as the gorgeous animals that live in the field next door regularly wander up to the garden to meet customers.

Part of Butcombe Pubs and Inns, the interiors of the pub have been beautifully curated using a colour palette of greens, soft blues and deep reds on the walls and upholstery, replicating the colours of the forest outside. Botanical wallpaper features alongside Chesterfield sofas, oversized rugs, trunk coffee tables and a variety of new high- and low-level furniture and high-backed wing chairs.

The walls are adorned with artwork, lit by chandeliers and statement wall and pendant fittings, and the bar has been relocated but the design team has reused the original, much-loved carved bar frontage. A new private dining room with its own private outside area has been create, perfect for functions such as birthdays, weddings and corporate and team building days.

The pub also has seven guest rooms and ensuite bathrooms, which have also been remodelled and feature super comfy beds, glamorous styling, high-end bathrooms, home baked treats and Bramley toiletries. Will Ollason, general manager at The High Corner Inn, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the stunning new look. It’s quite a transformation from the previous incarnation but we’ve kept the integrity of this well-loved building intact.
