Devastated girlfriend spoke to Leeds United fan minutes before he was killed in Vegas stag do

A Leeds United fan’s life was cut short during a stag do in Las Vegas, leaving his girlfriend devastated – she has spoken out about her loss and revealed she spoke to him in his final minutes.

Chris Moran, a 32-year-old rugby player and sales director at findmy.car in Ossett, was enjoying a night out with friends when he was struck by a lorry at 5am last Friday. Despite the efforts of police and witnesses, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His heartbroken partner Georgia Cooke, 25, told The Mirror: “We’d been speaking up until 10 minutes before – he was saying how amazing Vegas was and that he wanted to bring me there.

“He was having the best time and we were so excited for our future together. We had just secured a mortgage for our first home and had plans to get married and have kids.”

Georgia, a residential worker for children with special needs, was on holiday at Butlin’s when she learned of the horror.

She said: “I had a call from one of Chris’ friends around 8pm to say what had happened. I couldn’t speak and refused to believe it. I don’t know what I am going to do without him – he brought me so much happiness.”
