ITV This Morning betting odds on Phillip Schofield’s replacement as Brummie star named favourite

The daytime TV world was shaken this week when Phillip Schofield stepped down from his role as an ITV This Morning presenter. The 61-year-old had worked on the show for more than 20 years.

When Schofield joined the show in 2002 he was co-hosting with Fern Britton after replacing John Leslie. That partership lasted until 2009 when Holly Willoughby replaced her.

Willoughby and Schofield have had a successful and long-lasting partnership as co-hosts of This Morning which lasted almost 15 years. The two were said to be good friends although there have often been rumours of discontent behind the scenes in recent weeks leading up to his shock exit.

Alison Hammond has taken over from Dermot O’Leary as the favourite to replace Phillip Schofield on This Morning after BoyleSports cut her odds into 2/1.

Birmingham-born Hammond was chalked up at 4/1, but those chances have been trimmed after a surge in support, making her the new frontrunner to join Holly Willoughby on the sofa following Schofield’s announcement that he has quit the show.
