Laura Woods has revealed that cryotherapy is her “new obsession” – but has remained silent on reports suggesting that she’s set to land a new starring role on TV.

Woods, 35, is claimed to be the leading candidate to replace Jake Humphrey as the lead presenter for BT Sport – which is soon to become TNT Sports after being bought by Warner Bros Discovery – in time for next season. Humphrey recently announced his departure after a decade in the hot seat and chiefs are said to have already entered talks with Woods.

The TalkSPORT radio host, who also works for ITV, DAZN and Amazon Prime Video, is yet to break her silence on the supposed negotiations, but she’s been happy to chat about something else – cryotherapy. “The new obsession,” Woods wrote in an Instagram post. “Being cold for four minutes.”

What is cryotherapy? It’s a health treatment which comes in the form of applying extreme cold to freeze and destroy abnormal tissue. To create the amount of severe cold neccessary, a health provider usually employs a substance like liquid nitrogen or argon gas. Cryotherapy can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions and some cancers, including those of the prostate and liver.

As she enjoys her “new obsession,” Woods reportedly remains in discussions with TNT Sports executives over landing what would surely be her biggest career role yet. Current BT host Lynsey Hipgrave is likely to remain the face of the channel’s Premier League coverage, having taken up role at the beginning of this season.
